After 3 busy days filming I am just taking a couple of days off to recharge the batteries, both literally and metaphorically, before hitting the computer to begin editing in earnest.

First job is to identify the best takes, then to trim them to roughly the right length and compile the movie by putting them in order. After this I begin the slow process of accurate trimming, working through the film bit by bit. Once this is done then I can turn to alternate shots and add these in and then finally add sound files from the off camera recorder.

Then the really slow bit begins!!!  Colour grading, which as a colourblind director is something I need another pair of eyesto assist, followed by fine tuning, adding any sound effects and cleaning everything up before finally adding music.

That looks really scary written down…
